On a sunny Yorkshire day, after a few rounds of roasting, we sat down and cupped some of our prospective coffees. Asides from being a funny sounding activity, cupping is a great way of tasting what we like (and dislike) about our sample roasts. After cupping and discussing several coffees, the caffeine hit us pretty bad and resulted in a 4am bedtime.
We have roughly 10,000 taste buds lining the surface of our tongues. This means we can taste some incredibly complex favours. Coffee is the perfect drink to exercise your tasting super powers as it offers more taste profiles (identifiable flavours) than wine!
